Meeting is this Week!
 
Plan for a fun meeting with an interesting speaker, Photographer Kelly Starbuck, on Thursday evening. As usual, it will be at the Arboretum. Social time starts at 6:30, and the meeting officially begins at 7 p.m.
 
Spring Show Update

The show received a record breaking 399 pieces of artwork for the show!
They are now being seen by the juror. When jurying is complete, a list of accepted works will be posted on the WAA website, perhaps on March 22.
Thank you to all who participated. It will be a wonderful show.
 
WAA members are eligible to enter Bin work into the show.

Trip to Museum in Raleigh
 
Join the Wilmington Art Association on a visit to the outstanding North Carolina Museum of Art on Tuesday, March 29th.

The museum buildings and its extraordinary collections are a treat in itself, added to which there are two special exhibitions on at the moment which you do not want to miss!  These are "Childe Hassam and the Isles of Shoals" and "Marks of Genius: 100 Extraordinary Drawings from the Minneapolis Institute of Art". A guided tour of the Hassam exhibition and a delicious lunch in the museum restaurant are included in the $35 cost of the trip.

Classes at Art Exposure
 
Beginning Oil Painting with Robert Rigsby
Saturday, March 12th 10:30am to 6pm
and Sunday, March 13th 1-6pm

Fee: $90.00
Minimum of 3 students and maximum of six

Join Robert who works strictly with oils to learn the basics of painting with oil. 
This class will give you working knowledge that you will need to take up this rewarding medium.

Handbuilding in Clay with Cindy Miles

$25.00 materials fee to Cindy on first day of class
All clay, glazes and firing included
Maximum of 4 students
  • "All about Spring" - Think birds, bird houses, flowers, mushrooms, even fairies to create for a bright spring! Saturdays - April 16 and April 23 10:30 - 4:00pm
  • "Sand, Sea, Surf" - Plan for a colorful exciting summer...create fish, mermaids, sea creatures, etc. Saturdays - May 21 and May 28 10:30 - 4:00
June, July, August classes TBA. You may contact Cindy or a representative from ArtExposure about beginning, intermediate, 1 on 1, adult and child, or teen classes.

All classes are limited to 4 persons, so register early online at ArtExposure50.com. All class materials, tools, and kiln firing are supplied. Receive a 10% discount on the class fee if you intentionally bring a friend. Bring drinks, snacks, and/or lunch if you would like.
