Now on with the show!

Volunteers for Art in the Arboretum

During the show, eight to ten artists at a time are needed to assist visitors. All sales will be handled by Arboretum workers, but we are the ones who talk art to the potential customers and answer questions.

We know that many of you would like to see the schedule, and we would like that, too. Unfortunately only picture type files (jpgs) can be added to this blogging platform, so the spreadsheet won't be available until the September general meeting. If you would like it emailed to you, we can do that.

However here is the info:
The show is from 10 - 4 Friday Sept 30, Sat Oct 1, and Sunday Oct 2.
Since we need to bring the bins out in the morning and back inside when the show closes, we are asking for help from 9:30 to 4:30. You can sign up for two to three hours at a time during any of those days. Some members have signed up, but no hours are close to full.
It is still early, so you can decide what works best for you. Or you may want to ask when you are most needed.
Then email Elaine Cooper at elainerogerscooper@gmail.com or Susan Buteau at zazoots@yahoo.com to get plugged in.
Thank you!

Change in Meeting Time

Starting in September, the general meetings that are held on the second Thursday of the month will now begin at 6 pm with social time, and then the meeting and program will follow. It should be over by 8:30 pm. The Board hopes that this will be more convenient and will work well for everyone.

Betty Brown Workshop

BETTY BROWN has space for 3 more students in her afternoon classes in watercolor or oil, taught in her studio. The classes are small enough to work with varying levels in either medium. Please let her know if you want to sign up for a 10-week session. She will begin on Sept. 12, on the Monday after Labor Day weekend. She will have to skip October 24 due to a previous commitment. The class will finish on November 21, the Monday before Thanksgiving. Tuition is $320 for the 10 lessons. Classes are held in her studio at 1917 Fenwick Place (near the Mall). The classes will begin at 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM. She will send out directions to the studio and materials lists after filling the class. If you have question, you can call Betty at 763-9459 (home/studio) or 540-8096 (mobile). You can email her at bbbstudio@ec.rr.com You can read about Betty and see her work on her web site www.bettybrownartist.com
