THE SPRING SHOW CALL FOR ARTISTS




TWO SHOWS
 
1. Todd Carignan will be showing at ArtFuel, 2165 Wrightsville Avenue. The opening reception is February 7 from 7-10 pm. Kristen Crouch, Joanna Fry, and Rebekah Todd are also showing. The show will hang for eight weeks.
 
2. The Occasional Gallery, 513 Market Street, will be hosting an artist reception on Friday February 6 from 6 - 10 pm. Paul Krauss, Sandy Lee, Renate Abbate, Heather Lee McLelland, and Jacob Herrman will be exhibiting. The show continues Saturday February 7 from 10-2.

Three Opportunities

Call for Entries
The Associated Artists of Southport, NC is accepting entries for the annual Spring Art Show that will take place at Franklin Square Gallery March 2 through March 21, 2015.  
The deadline for completed registration forms with entry fee is February 13, 2015.  
Delivery of registered works to Franklin Square Gallery will be on February 27 from 10 am to 2 pm
Awards: $1200 + Memorial Awards, Merit Awards & Honorable Mentions. 
Skip Lawrence (2D) and Brian Evans (3D) will judge from actual work.

Port City Java

WAA members in good standing are eligible to apply to show 2D artwork in the Port City Java (PCJ) Porter’s Neck (PN) CafĂ© in 2015.

Application submission begins January 19, 2015 and continues through February 2, 2015.
 
 

Call for Collage Artists

PROSPECTUS

Collage Artists of Wilmington (CAW) will present "Gracious Plenty," a spring collage art show at the Caprice Bistro Restaurant, 2nd floor, 10 Market Street, Wilmington NC 28401.
Opening will be March 8, 2015 from 5-7 PM. The show will run through April 26, 2015.

Artists are asked to create artworks that celebrate the theme of food in all its forms and meanings.

The show will be juried.

Eligibility: The exhibition is open to all artists who work in the medium of college. Due to space limitations, an artist may submit only one (1) piece of artwork for consideration. All work must be original in concept, execution, and composition. CAW reserves the right to refuse entry of any work.

Submission: Artwork is to be digitally submitted (without frame or mat, etc.) in JPEG format to cawart2015@gmail.com by Sunday February 8, 2015.

Entry Fee: A non-refundable entry fee of $20.00 (no cash) made payable to Ruth Brune along with Entry Form is due by Monday February 2, 2015. Mail check and Entry Form to Ruth Brune, 3909 W. Durant Ct., Wilmington, NC 28412. * note: Entry Form not available here but will be on a subsequent post.

Artists will be notified of acceptance by February 14, 2015.

Exhibition Readiness: All 2D work is to be ready for presentation in a gallery setting. Work must be framed and secured using picture wire on the back with screw eyes (no saw-tooth hangers, no exceptions). Fragile work should be under glass or Plexiglass. Dimensions should be no more that four (4) square feet inclusive of frame.

Accepted artwork will be received at Caprice Bistro on March 1, 2015 between 2 and 3 PM. Every precaution will be taken during the installation and showing, however Caprice Bistro and CAW will not be responsible for loss or damage. By submitting for exhibition, the artist grants CAW permission to reproduce images of said work for publicity and educational purposes and inclusion in all forms of media. The artist grants the use of these images without further compensation from CAW.  

Sales: All artwork must be for sale.

Pickup: Artists are asked to pick up their unsold work on Sunday April 26, 2015 between 2 and 3 PM. Artists understand that Caprice Bistro and CAW cannot be responsible for artwork not picked up at this time.

Payment of entry fee assumes that artists agree with the terms and conditions of the Prospectus.

EBlast Tuesday January 6, 2015

Betty Brown has space left in her studio classes that begin January 26. Classes will run each Monday through March 30, ending before Easter. The classes are small, accommodating all levels in either watercolor or oil. Tuition for the 10 weeks is $315. Please contact Betty as soon as possible before the classes fill.

Betty has taught privately and in workshops in the area for many years. She currently conducts workshops at the Cameron Museum School, for Sea View Inn,http://seaviewinn.com/specialweeks-artist.php  in Pawleys Island, SC, and at John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC, https://www.folkschool.org.

WAA Eblast January 1, 2015

To all the wonderful artists in WAA:  I am moving to Brightmore in  
January, and have a bunch of frames to dispose of.  Some small, some  
16 X 20 and larger, gold, wood, plain and fancy.  You are welcome to  
come see them, just call me first, please:  910-343-1328  Also have  
some miscellaneous easels, portable, and 1 thumb-size.  I'm sure you  
all know how easy it is to accumulate art stuff!  Help!
