eblast for Art After Hours

Art After Hours 4 – Initial Invitation

This is the first announcement for Art After Hours – 4 to be held March 20,
Monday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at Henry’s Restaurant, Barclay Commons.

The subject will be “Composing Painting Options from Photos”
The discussion will be about photographing subjects for future art, evaluating them and cropping them to achieve several options for paintings.   Cropping will include thoughts about composition, center of interest, lighting, location of horizon, spacing of masses, shapes and values, etc.  We may take a photo and break it into four or five different layouts (horizontal, vertical, square, rectangular, etc).

Each of you that sign up should be prepared to do some homework and also to furnish an example of a painting you have done from a photo, how you cropped and chose the composition.

Again, if you are interested, please send an email to jdc001@mac.com .  Not texts, calls, letters, or messages via friends!  Look forward to this subject, which is a bit more ‘art oriented’ than the previous business and marketing sessions.

Space is limited to 30 people and will be on a first come, first serve basis.
