Mediums used in this workshop: Acrylic or Oil
This is a time-tested curriculum designed to help students develop a better understanding
for the fundamentals of color, composition, value, paint application and atmospheric perspective pertaining to landscape painting.
Design discussions will focus on the subjects of emphasis and pattern,
with a goal to create more dynamic compositions.
Students will also learn a reliable, step-by-step system for creating larger studio works from start to finish, with a working knowledge of color and value.
In addition to any prerequisite studies, this workshop will set as a goal 1-3 completed paintings for the week depending on the size of the canvas.
Instruction will include lecture and slide presentation, demonstrations, critiques, and one-on-one time with each student.
The principles taught apply universally to a variety of mediums, and though demos will be done in acrylics, all students are welcome.
Finally, a class that deciphers the mysteries of age old concepts and breaks it down into simple, straight forward, easy to understand principles.
