Art After Hours – January 16, 2017
The subject for January’s Art After Hours will focus on use of social media including Facebook and Instagram and also on the design of a website.
For the social media aspect of this, we are looking for one
or more artists who have a high degree of proficiency with Facebook and/or
Instagram. If you do and would be
willing to attend the meeting to help provide expertise, please contact Jay at jdc001@mac.com.
The second portion of this discussion will deal with how to
design a good website. The purpose is
not to actually show how to technically put together a website or to use a
specific software, but to discuss its organization, content, operation and appearance. A number of websites of non-local artists
will be reviewed and critiqued and discussed.
We may also provide information on a number of software systems that are
available to artists should they wish to design their own website along with
ratings, cost, etc.
If there are one or more artists who have been through this
process, have designed their site and who would be willing to add their
expertise, please contact Jay at jdc001@mac.com.
The January Art After Hours will be January 16th,
6 PM to 8 PM at Henry’s Restaurant, 2508 Independence Boulevard (Independence
and Shipyard). Henry’s has prepared a
limited menu for our use for this evening.
The room is limited to 30 people. First we will insure that we have the
necessary artists to provide knowledge on the subject matter, and the balance
will be accepted based on emails sent to jdc001@mac.com. A waiting list will be established in the
event you find later that you are unable to attend.
