PRESENTER FOR WAA MEETING MAY 12th 2016
On May 12th, 2016, Wilmington Art Association welcomes well-known artist and instructor, Joanne Geisel as presenter at our monthly Membership Meeting.
The meeting will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Market Street at 6.30pm.
Geisel's presentation is titled: "Creating Dynamic Impact with Values". She will explain and demonstrate her process as she begins an oil painting. She will also share her thoughts on gallery representation including creating a body of work, resume, cover letter, and researching and approaching galleries.
Joanne is an award-winning North Carolina artist, and she is often to be found painting "en plein air" in Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington. Her beautiful work is of the ocean, marshes and magnificent skies of our local landscape. A graduate of the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, Geisel is a gifted instructor and her demonstration for Wilmington Art Association is sure to be enthralling.

PLEIN AIR CLASSES
Joanne Geisel will also be teaching outdoor painting classes starting May 4.
Each week she will do a demonstration explaining her planning and painting processes including composition, values, and color choices. There will be lots of time to paint.
She will also provide individual instruction. What a great way to enjoy the out of doors!
Dates: Wednesdays May 4, 11,18, 25 (skip June 1) June 6,13
Hours: 9:30AM -12:30PM
Fee: $180
We will probably carpool to a few of these locations if you like.

May 4 - Wrightsville Beach – South end under the shelter
May 11 - Shelton Herb Farm, Brunswick County
May 18 - Vareen Gardens, Brunswick County (Marshes!)
May 25 - Sneads Ferry, (Shrimp boats!)
NO Plein Air Painting Class June 1
June 6 - Castle Street or other urban location
June 13 - Wilmington, Memorial Bridge park
TEAR IT UP COLLAGE SHOW
Deadline for entries is May 15. Work is to be brought in on June 1.
Show will be at the Leland Cultural Arts Center and will run from June 2 through June 29.
Reception is planned for June 7.
