Chad Smith Workshop
A SPECIAL THREE-DAY WORKSHOP by CHAD MATTHEW SMITH
The WAA is pleased to have Chad Smith, internationally known contemporary artist, lead this premier plein air workshop, in conjunction with our 34th Annual Spring Art Show and Sale. The workshop is non-media specific. Chad is experienced in oil, watercolor, acrylic, ink and pastel. All levels and all mediums are invited. Chad will give you time-tested tools and concepts that transcend medium. The workshop will include studio time and painting en plein air. There will be demonstrations, presentations, group critiques, discussion and lots of painting time. Smith says, “As an ‘on the spot’ painter, I find great satisfaction in capturing the immediacy of the moment. I liken this to jazz improvisation. The more practiced and skilled one becomes, the more clarity and meaning one brings to the ‘performance’.”
